6. Meta description tag. This is another piece of HTML tag that the search engine is responsible for. A meta description is a summary of the webpage displayed in the SERP to encourage incoming traffic. 7. Text Sitemap. A text sitemap is a comprehensive web page that displays links to all the pages on your website. 8. Search engine sitemap (sitemap.xml). Search Engine Sitemap (S, capitalized here, should not be confused with sitemaps with small text) is Google's regular sitemap version. It's easy to create and submit a copy of your site's sitemap.xml to your search engine list. The robot uses this Sitemap to analyze and report on the visibility of web pages in the search engine index. 9. DMOZ list. DMOZ is the largest and most comprehensive web directory edited by humans. Having items in your DMOZ list that points to your website will increase your PageRank and increase your visitors' traffic significantly. Search engines place a lot of importance on the DMOZ list.

10. Robots.txt. Robots.txt controls which pages are indexed as text files in the root directory of a website, and which pages the search engine robot manages.
